Que. – Why is transport of materials necessary in a plant or in an animal?

Ans. – All organisms need food, water and oxygen for survival. The plants absorb food and water through roots. They make food in leaves. Thus the animals also utilised  food in their various organs. They obtain these foods from intestine. These need a system which transports these foods to tissues. There also need the transportation of waste from body.

Que. – What is called the fluid part of blood?

Ans. – Plasma.

Que. – What is blood? Write its function.

Ans. –Blood is the fluid which flows in the blood vessels.

It transports substances like digested food from small intestine to other parts of body.
It carries oxygen from lungs.
It also transports wastes for removal from body.

Que. – What is the normal pulse rate in a resting person?

Ans. – 72 to 80 beats per minute.

Que. – Name the various kinds of blood cells. Write their functions.

Ans. – There are three types of blood cells.

Red blood cells (RBC) – It contains haemoglobin which gives a red pigment to blood. It carry O2 and CO2. 
White blood cells (WBC) – It fights against germs that may enter our body. So these are called the soldiers of body.
Platelets – it forms clot of blood for stopping bleeding.

Ans. – (i) Veins – Veins carry the blood rich in carbon dioxide.

       (ii)  Arteries – these carry the blood rich in oxygen.

Ans. – There are three types of blood vessels.

Ans. – Capillary.

Ans. –The number of beats per minute is called the pulse rate.

Que. – How many chambers does the heart have?

Ans. – The heart has four chambers these are right Atrium, right ventricle, left atrium and left ventricle.

Ans. –  The process of removal of wastes produced in the cells of the living organisms is called excretion.

Ans. –  There are many small holes are present on the surface of the leaves, these are called stomata.

Functions of stomata.

(i) The process of transpiration takes place through stomata.
(ii) All gaseous exchanges take place through stomata.

(iii) Absorption of photo energy also takes place through stomata.

Ans. –     It pumps blood for life.

It distributes blood to all parts of body.

Ans. –    Waste products have toxin substances which is very harmful for our body so these are necessary to excrete out.

Ans. –   Blood is a medium of transportations of various nutrients, food oxygen those body need. And it also carries out the waste products.

Ans. –  Plasma, red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets are the main components of blood.

Ans. –   stethoscope.

Ans. – A tissue is a group of cells that perform specialized function in an organism.

Que. – Write the role of root hair presence in the root of plants.

Ans. –  The roots have root hair, which increase the surface area of the root for the obsorption of water and mineral nutrients dissolved in water.

Ans. –   Excretory system.

Ans. –   Haemoglobin bind with oxygen and transports it to all the parts of the body and ultimately to all the cells. The presence of haemoglobin makes blood appear red.
