Answer:
Coorg, also known as Kodagu, is the smallest district of Karnataka. It is situated midway between Mysuru and the coastal town of Mangaluru. The region is famous for its evergreen forests, coffee plantations, pleasant climate, and scenic beauty.
Question 2. What is the story about the Kodavu people's descent?
Answer:
There are different theories about the origin of the Kodavu people. One theory suggests that they are of Greek descent because some of Alexander's soldiers settled in Coorg after his campaign. Another theory believes that they are of Arabic origin because of certain customs, traditions, and dress similar to those of the Arabs. However, their exact origin is not known with certainty.
