Lesson- 6. The Fight

EXERCISE

Q.1 Is fighting the only way of resolving difference of opinion? What else can be done to reach a mutually acceptable settlement?

Answer- Fighting is no way of resolving differences of opinion. Fighting means might is right. But a stronger man can only force a weaker person to accept his terms. But it is not just. The best way to settle differences is a just and peaceful agreement.

Q.2 Have you ever been in a serious fight only to realise later that it was unnecessary and futile? Share your experience/views with other frankly and honestly.

Answer-Once a friend came to see me. Then it began to rain heavily .I lent him my umbrella as he left .After few days he returned the umbrella. It was broken but badly mended. I was very angry with him. He explained that a strong wind had broken the umbrella. But I was greatly pained. I told him it was an imported umbrella. My uncle had brought it from Japan. He offered to buy me any other umbrella. But I insisted on having the same kind of umbrella. I stopped talking to him. Then I talking to another friend he tried to console me. He said my point was wrong. I should not have insisted on its replacement. He told me what I would have done if I had broken it myself. I realised my friend was not at fault But I found it difficult to apologise though there was no bitterness any longer.

Q.3 why do some of us find it necessary to prove that we are better than others? Will you be amused or annoyed to read the following sing at the back of the car in front of you? I may be going slow but I am ahead of you.

Answer- Some of us find it necessary to prove that we are better than others because we actually feel that others are better than us. I’ll be amused.
