Ans. I don’t think English is the language of the character in this story. Their language is French. The clues in the story are the names of the character which are all French. The use of ‘Mme’ before loisel or forestier also show that they are French short forms used for madam or Mrs.

Ans. I don’t fully agree with the above statement. I believe that one of that one should not be greedy neither one should fell depressed or sad to think that other are more lucky and better than you. God also helps them who help themselves. So instead of envying others or feeling depressed for our lot, we should put all effort to improve it.
